Wisconsin Campus Compact is a lead agency in promoting the 2014 Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service. The MLK Day of Service honors the life of Dr. King. It is also a way of reminding all Americans of their civic duty to serve, as well as helping members of the community to work together to solve common problems. The 2014 MLK Day of Service is January 20, 2014.
In 2013, colleges and universities across the United States engaged over 15,000 volunteers in over 500 unique student-led projects in a community-wide collaborative day of service honoring Dr. King. In 2014, Campus Compact plans to mobilize over 15,000 student and community volunteers to answer, in the words of Dr. King: "Life's most persistent and urgent question is 'What are you doing for others?'"
